A humbling reminder to myself after I win the lotto tonight. (Taken with instagram)
DollarShaveClub.com - Our Blades Are F***ing Great (by DollarShaveClub)
“This blade comes from the future and lives in outer space.”
I want to be part of something that’s out of this world.
Still not a fan of collagen but a solid album nonetheless.
Review by Violent Tofu (Jason Protacio)
Let’s state the obvious. LDR hit the indie blogosphere last fall with her single “Video Games” and sides were immediately taken. The Pro LDR camp embraced her haunting voice while the opposing faction couldn’t stand this pouty-lip-faced woman. I myself fell into the latter group. The composition of strings and piano that “Video Games” created painted a drama I felt was deflated by a whinny little girl who ran out of tokens to play the next arcade machine. I was not a fan. However, I am a person that is fair and balanced, and though it may seem biased to let a LDR hater review her freshmen album, Born to Die, fear not, as I am a registered Independent in the state of California.

Incredible Google Street View project before and after 2011 Tohoku Earthquake Tsunami
I was about 3 to 4 drinks in before I took notice of the news broadcast showing the tsunami washing over the coast of Sendai. I ironically was having drinks in a sushi restaurant eerily named Tsunami Sushi. There were about 5 flat panels hanging over the bar, all of which were playing sports highlights from games that night. I still wasn’t sure if what I was watching was live or prerecorded. My friends and I heard about the earthquake before hand. Each TV monitor began to mimic the single display that broadcast of the tsunami. It’s still uncomforting to rethink of how I watched an entire wave engulf thousands of homes and lives; cars helplessly driving away from the wave, some misguidedly heading towards it. And all I could do at the time was watch, sipping my whiskey.
Take Away Show #87 _ Yeasayer (full version) (by Vincent Moon / Petites Planètes)
In 2010, I was in New York City for the Vimeo Film Festival and was lucky enough to get the chance to sit down and talk to Vincent Moon. He pioneered Un Concert a Emporter, or better known in the states as Take Away Show music videos. He felt that contemporary music videos were missing the genuine art of performance that displayed the raw talent of the musicians. Most live performance shooting use 2 or 3 cameras that have the band statically in place. Instead, Vincent decided to use a more dynamic approach, having the musicians themselves usually performing in a public setting, and him shooting around them often only using a single camera. Overall Vincent was an interesting man. When asked how much he typically made shooting these videos he said that he gladly does it for free, albeit the artists provide room and board and a meal, and of course, libations.
Yeasayer’s Take Away Show is one of my favorites in the series of Un Concert Emporter. It was shot before the popularity of using DSLR videos giving it more of an organic, deep look and also Yeasayer is just an overall bad ass band.
Home Alone (Ableton Live Remix) (by Keenan Gaynor)
Auto-Tuning and Home Alone Samples. Its an instant Christmas classic song.
Holiday party at the smokestack warehouse from Who Framed Roger Rabbit conveniently in my backyard.
Awkward physical contacts
I’m sure I’ve unintentionally done all of these once in my life.

I visited my friend Ryan who lives on a boat. Live on Boat > Being on boat. And on his boat was a book named “Just Bento”. The book’s focus was creating food using healthy ingredients like vegetables while emphasizing an aesthetic arrangement of said food. Just as I was about to steal this gem from the captain, I noticed that they had a web version of the book. Lucky for Ryan, mutiny was no longer in order.
